Razor-Sharp Japanese Carbon Steel Blade The blade edge of our tools is made from Japanese carbon steel and sharpened by skilled Japanese craftsmen. The result is a blade that is razor-sharp right out of the box, providing a smooth, silk-like finish on wood surfaces. Before use, we recommend tuning the blade with a Japanese hammer (GENNO, 8-16 oz) or a wooden mallet (36-55 mm).

Quality Laminated Structure The blade edge, made of Japanese steel, is laminated with soft iron. This two-layer construction increases the blade's durability and makes it easier to sharpen using a whetstone. This laminated structure is a traditional hallmark of Japanese-style blades.

Durable Japanese Oak Body KAKURI exclusively uses natural white oak that has been carefully dried for around three years after logging. This ensures excellent durability and a comfortable, ergonomic grip for the user.
